In collaboration with Intrax Racing, R-developments has been working on making a professional motorsport topmount for the Honda Civic 88-00 and the Honda Integra DC2. Intrax is well known for they’re wide range of fully adjustable camberplates and topmounts. The original rubber topmounts normally allow a lot of movement. By changing to solid topmounts a huge improvement on the control of the suspension and steering is noticeable.
The topmounts are made from the best materials. The bearing is placed in a stainless steel carrier. The aluminum used is ”aircraft grade” 7075T6. The bearing is a uniball with diameter of 16mm, height of 20mm. The camber plate adds 18mm height from the start of the toppin to the chassis. We are using a top notch quality bearing, suitable for rallycross, autocross, car race and street use. Shock absorbers of other brands, like Koni, Bilstein and KW often fit with the use of an adapter flange bush 12 >16m.
Summary of the advantages:
- Reduced movement of the Mc Pherson strut
- Very accurate control
- Strongly improved accuracy of the damping and the suspension
- Two-folded adjustment
- Complete control over the adjustment of the wheels
- Influence of the under- and oversteer character of the car
- No energy storage in the rubber
