Charged S2000 build

verhagen2 Time to share an update we’ve been working on since December. In coöperation with  Hontec Motorsport we are working on a new engine setup for the Verhagen Racing Dutch supercar challenge S2000. Jochem @ Hontec Motorsport contacted me regarding the engine work, Michael @ Verhagen racing was looking for a relieable 320 bhp setup. As his current 280 NA setup was slacking low down torque / top end speed on straights.

After a meeting @ Verhagen Racing end of december we decided on a very nice setup. The car is going to run a fully forged R-developments spec engine, using Mahle and Cosworth parts. The engine should be able to put out around 500 BHP, but as the car is going to be used for racing we are choosing a different route. The engine is going to be supercharged using a TTS Performance full race kit, Richard Albans @ TTS UK made an exclusive setup to suit our needs. Just the look of the kit is impressive:

It will make use of a restrictor keeping the torque up but the peak power down. Furthermore as we are using the full race kit the cooling will be optimal using 3 inch piping and a big core intercooler / supercharger oil cooler. The engine is going to have a flat powercurve making it real responsive to drive. As soon as the car has been race prepped @ Hontec Motorsport, Martijn @ Bekerom tuning will provide the mapping services. Dyno figures and movies will definatily follow!

To be continued!
