At R-developments we are always curious of where our products end up. We therefore encourage our customers to send in pictures of their race / project cars. In the news area we would like to share these pictures to give you an idea of the products we sell.
Starting off with GS Racing, Geert contacted us for a set of custom lexan windows for his BMW E30 saloon DNRT car. The car is being prepped for the oncoming season in the DNRT 325i Cup. This is a Cup where the cars can only be modified chasis wise. The engine and gearbox need to be standard spec. Because of this Geert decided to loose as much as weight possible. By just replacing the windows with our Lexan Windows he has shaven off almost 25 kg of his top weight. Resulting in a better handling car and a much safer car as in a crash the lexan won’t break like normal glass does. Furthermore the Lexan also won’t break when pickup is thrown at the car.

Also check his website: http://www.autoschadesnellen.nl/ he doest amazing paint job’s and has several award winning classic concours d’elegance cars.
Then off to a fellow civic driver, a well known car on the Nurburgring circuit. As Alexander has the same Nurburgring virus I’ve got. He’s done several thousands of laps so he knows the circuit like the back of his hand. The only trouble being that the oil temperature of his B18 GSR EK civic was far to high (130 degrees celcius) with heavy track use. After a good conversation we determined Alexander’s needs, and put together a nice Mocal setup. Containing of a thermostat (75 degree celcius) sandwich plate and a 16 row 235mm oil cooler, complete with stainless steel lines. After some measuring we found the ideal place for the oil cooler in the spot where the airco radiator normally fits. Together with new special high RPM Shell Ultra racing 10W60 oil this resulted in a steady 80 degree celcius oil temperature on cruising and a maximum of 100 degrees celcius with heavy (ab)use.

Last but not least, project R53. I can hear you thinking a Mini Cooper? Yes, but not just your average Mini Cooper, Berthil owns one of the most extreme modified Mini’s out there. He’s also addicted with the “Ring virus”, and has modified his car to the max. you should definatily check his website: http://www.r53.nl/ . Recently we made a set of lexan windows or the mini, containing of grey tinted rears in OEM specification and hardcoated fronts so the front window mechanism could be used / maintained without getting scratched. The goal of the R53 project is to get an as light as possible powerful Mini, by fitting the lexan window kit he has shaven off almost 12 kg. Some pictures of the car:
