Yesterday i picked up the Verhagen racing S2K engine and TTS racing Rotrex supercharger kit. The engine as always is build by Ian who we work together with when building the “black magic” racing engines. This time the recipe was rather different, as the S2K engine is one of the best basis to start off with. As explained in a previous blog post the Verhagen Racing S2K competes in the Dutch Supercar Challenge. In this class the power to weight ratio so we need to have a broad powerband to make the car quick at all RPM´s. Best way of doing that and keeping reliablity is going for a charger setup. As the charger has a liniair build up in power.
The engine is fully blueprinted, so all parts from crank pully to clutch cover have been balanced to get the best possible result. The engine parts that are used contain only the best, starting with Mahle Motorsport pistons (with a slightly lower compression) and Cosworth parts. All build to a disclosed R-developments specification. But as pictures say more then words i’ll just post the engine build pictures. More pictures of the buildup @ Hontec Motorsport will follow soon! And ofcourse a nice movie of the car mapping done by Bekerom tuning!
