Blood, Sweat, tears and pure adrinaline

assen20 Thats the best way of discribing the last 2 weeks before the 1st 2011 Time attack event at the Assen TT Circuit. We where working day and night to get everything ready for the first Time attack event. Sinceer apologies if you had Emails awnsered a bit slower then usual, all have been awnsered by now. First of all i would like to start off by thanking a few people that helped me getting ready for the show, Kay for his help prepping the trackday civic for it’s first show appearance, Martijn @ Bekerom tuning for the help prepping the S2000 for it’s first race, Kel for doing some welding and glueing all the windows, Evelien for the patience as i have been more in the garage then with her and last but not least Mom and Dad for trailering the Civic to the show after the tow truck failure….

Let me start by giving you guys an update on the S2000 project, Thursday we went to DP Engineering in Nijmegen. They have a dynapack Dyno that we use to map all the R-development engines. We went over to see what the car was going to make power wise after installing a low compression custom build S2k engine with a custom made TTS supercharger kit. I believe that movies say more then words so:

The dyno sheet:

Great results, a whopping 407,3 bhp (please note this car is buid for racing in a horsepower restricted class), 7,3 more then the customer asked for. Also a small clip of the car in action last sunday:

The car had some minor issue’s at it’s first track outing, but will be ready for the first Dutch Supercar Race beginning of April. And will ofcourse compete in time attack @ Jaf 2011 in Zandvoort.

Ofcourse we also had to prepare the R-developments Trackday Civic as we where asked to be “special guest” @ the Civic Club Holland display area. If it wasn’t for the people above i would not have made it. The car was in a far from showworthy state and needed a lot of parts to be fitted. On thursday evening (yes when the s2k was on the dyno) i juggled my time in between working on my car and being at the Dyno to support Martijn with his mapping. We got a lot of work done, headlights where modified, fender alligned and we fitted the new R-developments Fender bolt kits. Then on Friday we glued in the full Lexan window kit (including an Endurance Scratch resistant windscreen), and fabricated an intake tube. Some pictures:

The it was time to get to the Assen TT circuit, after a long day we where at the Assen Circuit at 21:00, (we started to load up @ 09:00 but had a lot of issue’s with the trailer and tow truck). We unloaded the Civic some pictures of my car on the CCH paddock stand:

Overall we had a great day and we where well pleased, thanks for reading and keep checking the site for updates!
